California Homebuyers Get Boost: New Program Offers Up to $200K in Two Expensive Counties

First-time homebuyers in Alameda and Contra Costa counties may benefit from the new Home Access Program by Housing Trust Silicon Valley, which offers up to $200,000 or 40% of a home's purchase price in down payment assistance. This program features a 30-year deferred loan with no monthly payments, repayable upon sale of the home or at the end of the term. Eligible buyers must earn below 80% of the county median income, with specific income limits set for individuals and families. Applications will open in May.
